Dizains
At the front, the wide and flat single frame with its glossy anthracite grey honeycomb grille, as well as chromed frame and Audi Sport emblem take centre stage. A low-lying carbon spoiler extends under it, which directs the air specifically around the large wheels. The continuous shoulder line emphasises the firm edges, the side blades, the side skirts, the cover of the convertible top box and the fixed rear spoiler that are made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CRP), optionally in vehicle colour. The optional Audi laser light in the LED headlights ensures excellent visibility at night. Its distinguishing features are its blue anodised, illuminated separating rods, as well as the dynamic flashing light.

Ceramic brakes

The ceramic brake has been developed for tougher strains. With brake disks made of carbon fibre reinforced ceramic - hard silicon carbide, embedded in the durable carbon fibre. Even under high thermal loads, they convince with good timing and dosage. In addition, they are characterised by their low weight. And the enormously hard and abrasion-resistant material increases the running performance of the discs.

7-gear S tronic
The 7-gear S tronic combines the advantages of a conventional manual gearbox with those of a modern automatic. And, thus, sets standards in terms of sportiness, comfort and efficiency. The dual-clutch transmission, consisting of two sub-transmissions, switches by changing the power-transmitting clutch. The gear shifting process is precise, extremely quick and without almost any tractive effort interruption. For this purpose, the S tronic holds ready programs D (Drive) and S (Sport) in automatic mode. The manual mode, which allows the gears to be actively switched via the shift paddles on the steering wheel or by tapping the selector lever, provides additional driving pleasure. By the way, the high efficiency, the large transmission spread and the R8-specific free-wheel mode support efficient driving.

Change character - with the standard Audi drive select. A large number of vehicle components can be influenced by pushing a button in order to adapt them to the respective driving situation. The Audi R8 Spyder V10 plus offers the driver five different modes: auto, comfort, dynamic, individual and the R8-specific mode performance. Due to the fixed friction parameters, dry, wet and snow, the driver has the possibility of actively adjusting his R8 to the respective road conditions.
